WEST SACRAMENTO – A major Sacramento-area freeway connector is set to be closed starting Friday night through the weekend, Caltrans is warning drivers.
The eastbound Interstate 80 ramp just after the Yolo Causeway to eastbound I-80 in North Sacramento will be closed from Oct. 18 at 9 p.m. to Oct. 21 at 4 a.m. It's all part of the Yolo 50/80 Corridor Improvements Project.
Detours will be in place for the 55-hour closure, but drivers should take note of one major diversion in particular.

For people heading to the Sacramento International Airport from eastbound I-80, Caltrans is urging drivers to divert onto northbound Highway 113 from Davis to Woodland, then onto southbound Interstate 5.
Otherwise, drivers expecting to take the eastbound I-80 connector in West Sacramento will be diverted onto Highway 50. From there, drivers can shift onto northbound I-5 through Sacramento.
This round of the Yolo 50/80 Corridor Improvements Project will see crews working on the construct approach slabs, Caltrans says.
