It has been confirmed to CorkBeo that Aer Lingus flight EI878 to Lanzarote has been cancelled as a result of the incident.
Cork Airport Communications Manager, Barry Holland told CorkBeo: "Aer Lingus flight EI878 to Lanzarote has been cancelled. Cork Airport Police and Fire Service personnel, as well as members of the HSE National Ambulance Service, attended a medical emergency at the airport earlier this evening.
"With respect to the passenger concerned and their family, Cork Airport will not be making any further comment on the matter."
This comes after strike action by French air traffic controllers cancelled another flight out of Cork Airport earlier today.
The 2.35 pm flight from Cork to Carcassonne was grounded after the latest round of walkouts from French air traffic controllers (ATC), with airline officials saying there may be more scrapped flights on the way.
Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary has said his airline has had to cancel 400 flights because of the latest action - most just overflying France and not landing there - and he has warned of more to come.
